Blue Pages 2.1 — Keana Labra

Pierre Auguste Renoir — Bordighera

Eternal

I.
You stir the wells in my eyes,
so easily swayed by any crashing tide
I catch each droplet for later
as it dries in the sun.

II.
Love is deceptive
I am alone in this hole
I reminisce on past kindness
and I curse the future

and shameful present.

Keana Labra was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work may be found in the January and February 2018 issues of the now defunct The Aoi Kuma Journal. She writes articles, book reviews, and artist interviews as the co-editor of the online publication, Chopsticks Alley Pinoy. She is also a regular contributor to the Royal Rose Magazine and Rose Quartz Magazine. Knowing the importance of representation, she would like her work to be evidence that Filipino Americans are also present in the literary and art world.
